Your voice captivating and profound
Your imagination a force of nature
Your sense of strategy rich and nuanced
Never allowing us to countenance failure
Your mind reframed scripture
Crafting weapons of resistance
Deeply rooted in the power of faith
Tools to cut through cognitive dissonance
I have known you as a leader
But also as a friend
Through years of mental disarray
You always lent a guiding hand
Every Sunday like clockwork
You came through my parents’ back yard
You always offered a kind word
Eyes of compassion and an open heart
Your spiritual home always open
For a generation, Plymouth was an anchor
Home to festivals of both love and outrage
A deeply rooted tree amidst deadly storms
You have crafted a fierce legacy
Channeling so much spiritual energy
Sewing fragments of godseed
Empowering sacred community
